MINUTES OF LAKE SUMMERSET ANNUAL MEETING All open session Board Meetings are audio recorded by the Recording Secretary for transcribing and clarification purposes. Board President, Frank Miller called the meeting to order at 2:00pm. Directors present were Leon Gorsch, Karen Franzen, Mark Metzler, Jane Brannon, John Cressman, General Manager, Gary Wilke and Administration Services Manager Marsha Shelly. Members signed in: Jack Walsh, Pat Myrda, Alex & Ruth Artisuk, Bob & Pat Page, Susan Hukle, David and Shirley Keyes, Ron and Amanda Klezek, Clarence & Janet Metzler, Alison Board, Kate Cressman, Rory Bradford, Kelli Metzler, Tom & Fran Webb, Nancy & John Lund, David Newhouse, Jim McClellan, Robert Wendel, Jim DeFranco, Denny Harker, Edward Gallagher, Steven Panoske, Phil Brannon and Charles Norland. CALL TO ORDER - President Frank Miller called the 38th Annual Meeting of the Lake Summerset Association to order and welcomed all members present. DECLARATION OF QUORUM - It was determined by Marsha Shelly and President Frank Miller that there was a Quorum. INTRODUCTIONS - President Frank Miller introduced the current Board Members, Leon Gorsch, Karen Franzen, Mark Metzler, Jane Brannon, John Cressman, General Manager Gary Wilke and Recording Secretary Gayle Gladkin. ELECTION COMMITTEE REPORT - President Miller introduced Steve Panoske to provide the election committee report. Mr. Panoske opened thanking the election committee, Marsha Shelly and Alison Board for their help in counting the ballots. The committee consisted of Ron & Diana Richards, Larry McCoy, Pat Ferguson and Steve Panoske. There were a total of 1,679 votes cast. Of this number, 37 ballots were declared spoiled. The results are as follows:
Therefore the two elected directors are: Marty Kisser and Leon Gorsch. Congratulations to both. PRESIDENT’S REPORT - President Miller provided a recap of 2011’s highlights. We have replaced software and security cameras, we revised the citation review guidelines, we have tried to utilize the committees as much as we can, we are having discussions regarding home sale signs, there were changes to the horsepower for boats and dredging was done at the west end of the lake. We are ready for the challenges that are ahead in 2012. MANAGER’S REPORT - Manager Wilke gave an overview of the Common Interest Community Association Act. The CICAA was signed into law on July 29, 2010 and it revision was signed into law on August 26, 2011. The act is defined as a “Common interest community” means real estate other than a condominium or cooperative with respect to which any person by virtue of his or her ownership of a partial interest or a unit therein is obligated to pay for maintenance, improvement, insurance premiums or real estate taxes of common areas described in a declaration which is administered by an association. “Common interest community” may include, but not be limited to, an attached or detached townhome, villa or single-family home. A “common interest community” does not include a master association. The organization and operation of the Lake Summerset Association, Inc falls within the definition of a “common interest community”, making the CICAA applicable to LSA governance and operations. PRESENTATION AND ADOPTION OF THE 2012 ANNUAL BUDGET - Mark Metzler went over the 2012 annual budget. Our income has been impacted by the downturn of the economy. The interest income is down and home sales are down which impacts our income. Mark Metzler made a motion to approve the 2012 Budget with a dues increase to $620.00. Jack Walsh seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. ADJOURNMENT - Denny Harker made a motion to adjourn seconded by Pat Myrda of lot 2084. Motion passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 3:10.
