YEARLY STATICS: In this month’s paper, there are statistics for last year’s security related activity at Lake Summerset. The total of guests registered at the gate in the 2009 report, does not include the count of Red pass or amenity guests, this total is only a count of regular guest pass guests. For the total of all guests refer to the Yearly report, which shows comparisons for previous years back to 2002.

Here is a link to a copy of the yearly statistics: Yearly Statistics

DECALS: When you receive your 2010 LSA Decal, be sure you place it in the proper location. The decal must be placed in the lower left (drivers side) of your windshield. Do not put the decal in a tinted area, and do not deface the decal by cutting it.

If your decal is improperly placed you may be issued a citation.

ROAD POSTINGS: Usually, sometime in March, the County Highway Department will post roads. The county posts roads because the thawing makes the roads vulnerable to heavy loads causing road damage. This means that certain trucks are not allowed to travel on the posted roads. If a truck of questionable weight is allowed, they must have a weigh slip that states what size load they have. These weigh slips must be shown to the guard at the entrance to Lake Summerset. If they are under the posted weight limit, they will be allowed to enter. Since the main entrance is in Winnebago County, LSA complies with the Winnebago County Postings. The county has weight signs posted at each end of Best Road and other areas. If you are having a delivery, such as lumber, concrete, furniture, etc. make sure that your driver of these deliveries knows that we comply with the Winnebago County road postings. To know when the roads are posted you can call the Winnebago Highway Department or check the signs. The following is the gross weight for vehicles:

  • 2 axles, single rear tires 7,000 lbs
  • 2 axles, dual rear tires 18,000lbs
  • 3 or more axles, dual rear tires 30,000lbs
  • GROSS AXLE LOAD 11,000lbs

AUTOMATIC CARD GATES: A reminder that if you are using the automatic card gates YOU cannot use these gates if you do not have a current LSA decal. You cannot use these gates pulling a trailer, boat etc. Guests cannot use these gates, even if a member is in the car with them. There are signs posted at all entrances and exits of the automatic card gates with restrictions on usage.

If you have any questions concerning any subject in this article, feel free to call the security department at 248-2194 extension 224 and ask for Janet.

The security guard house is open 7 days a week 24 hours a day to report any complaints or suspicious activity. The emergency number is 248-2778.
