GARAGE SALE WEEKEND: The annual Lake Summerset Garage Sales will be May 21st and 22nd this year. On Friday, May 21st, the sales will not be open to the public, but will be just for members and their guests. On Saturday, May 22nd, the sales will be open to the public. Remember that during this time, there will be a lot of vehicles parked along and in the road and substantial pedestrian traffic to watch out for.
MEMORIAL WEEKEND: May 29th-31st is Memorial weekend. If you are having guests, be sure you have passes at gate for them ahead of time. Also, be sure to list all guests’ names on your pass. Security will not allow entrance to anyone that is not listed on your pass. You should make sure to ask your guests if they will be bringing anyone with them so you can make sure they are listed on your pass.
BOATING ON LAKE SUMMERSET: Before you launch your boat, make sure that you have a current LSA Decal and an Illinois State Sticker and numbers. If you are borrowing a boat, you must fill out proper paper work at the LS Office. After launching, make sure you obey the LS rules and regulations pertaining to no wake areas, speed, skiing, etc. All rules are in the LS Redbook. If you don’t have a Redbook you can pick one up at the LSA Office.
DECALS: New decals will be available after payment of your 2010 dues. Remember when putting on your new decal that you do not place the decal in the tinted area of your windshield. All decals are to be placed in the lower left corner of your windshield. Be sure to remove all old decals.
WALKERS: When I drive through LSA, I have noticed that there are still walkers, joggers, runners that do not know the proper way to face traffic. To ensure the safety of pedestrians, I will always stop and tell them to walk facing traffic.
- Bicyclists are required to travel in the same directions as vehicles.
- Pedestrians should walk facing oncoming traffic.
- Both bicyclists and pedestrians, if you are in a group, should get in single file when a vehicle approaches you.
OPEN BURNING: REDBOOK page 24 Section K 2 states, No owner of any lot in Lake Summerset may burn garbage, trash, leaves or other refuse out of doors. And REDBOOK page 25 Section L 4 states, No burning or trapping is permitted in LSA, except by special written permission from the Manager.
